Balut on National Geographic

  1. Margarita Holmes was Mom’s friend in college at U.P.

The video is a bit disconcerting. I’ve eaten one, and it was actually delicious, but the video made it so disgusting, ergo, the people are disgusting too which is such an unfair impression. I’ve been asked several times if filipinos really eat worms as part of national food fare/ Sometimes videos like this give the wrong impression.

    • i think NatGeo made it look very disgusting with matching dirty and gritty background to scare western viewers 😀

wow, your mom must be very proud of how far her friend (holmes) has been successful with her career…i wish i had celebrity friends too 😀

      • I know, right? What’s sad is that videos from other countries, even those from really backward parts of the world like from some tribe in Africa, always look better than the ones from the Philippines. Maybe I expect something better from the Philippines?

        • yes, i think the philippines has that tendency to be portrayed this way very often especially in documentaries or movies and i hope the philippines could get past that reputation in the future…

by the way, i do not know which state you live in, but i hope you are all safe there with this BIG storm ravaging the US. it’s all over the news.

  2. ahaha, oks lang naman, kapatid. na-highlight lang siguro kaya parang kadirdirs, hihi… heniwey, kumakain din ako ng balot pero ‘yong tiny weeny pa ang duck fetus at bihi-bihira lang. para kasing masyado syang rich food, kaya as sparingly as possible… at any rate, gets ko naman bakit ang iba, sobrang hilig dito. masarap sya… hello, patriot. 🙂

  3. Ullk!

Yes, no matter what, Forever Balut + Bagoong Alamang! 🙂

  5. Wag! Balut forever! Hehe 🙂

  6. Wag mo na inext time.

Hehe
