Ang Kataas-taasang Hukuman ng Pilipinas ay ang pinakamataas na korte sa buong Pilipinas. Binubuo ito ng 14 Associate Justices at isang Chief Justice.

Ayon sa 1987 Constitution Article VIII, Section 11, “Dapat manungkulan ang mga Kagawad ng Kataastaasang Hukuman at ang mga hukom ng mga nakabababang hukuman habang maganda ang kanilang kaasalan hanggang sa sapitin nila ang gulang na pitumpung taon (70 years old) o mawalan ng kakayahang magsagawa ng mga tungkulin ng kanilang katungkulan.”

Ilan sa mga Katungkulan at Kapangyarihan ng Korte Suprema

• Nag-iisang magdedesisyon sa pag-aalinlangan sa eleksyon, kakayahan ng pangulo at ikalawang pangulo na manungkulan
• Pag-aralan kung nararapat ang pagdeklara o pagtanggi sa Martial Law at ipataw ang desisyon nito
• Desisyunan kung ang batas o ordinansiya ay di naaayon sa konstitusyon
• Hawakan ang mga kaso na sumasangkot sa mga pampubllikong opisyal
• Pag-aralan, baguhin o sang-ayunan ang mga desisyon na dumaan sa mababang hukuman
• Pansamantalang magtalaga ng mga hukom sa mababang hukuman ayon sa interes ng publiko
• Baguhin ang lugar sa pagdinig ng mga kaso
• Italaga ang mga empleyado ng kahukoman ayon sa batas ng serbisyo sibil
• Mangasiwa sa lahat ng mga korte at empleyado nito
